GALVESTON’S COMMUNITIES OF CARE INITIATIVE

In June 2019, FSC was awarded a Communities of Care grant through the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health. This initiative supports collaborative approaches to well-being in the Houston Metropolitan Statistical Area and is designed to strengthen efforts to transform the environments where people live, learn, work, play, and pray, bringing a population health approach to support community resilience, mental health and well-being with a focus on the children and youth of color and their families.

This grant builds on the ACEs to Assets Collaborative and will focus on the social determinants of mental health in Galveston that impact the disproportionate representation of Black children in exclusionary discipline settings in Galveston ISD.

FSC is now accepting new clients for the Veterans Program!
