As a community mental health agency, we are pleased to provide enriching experiences for students who are seeking to accrue their required hours for school.
Using a carefully created curriculum, counselors/social workers will put theory into practice. Starting in week 3, students will work directly with clients to learn and implement the skills necessary to advance through their education and career. Under the watch of a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), students will gain experience in a variety of topics, such as mandated reporting, creating safety plans, choosing appropriate assessments, and conceptualizing cases.
The foundation of our profession is centered on ethics. Counselors in training will learn and practice the roles and responsibilities for social workers, LMFTs, and LPCs. With this focus, ethical decision making and consultation will become second nature.
