As a trusted community mental health agency, Family Service Center is proud to offer meaningful and enriching internship experiences for students seeking to complete their required practicum or internship hours.
Through a thoughtfully structured curriculum, counseling and social work interns begin applying theory to real-world practice as early as week three of the program. Interns gain hands-on experience by working directly with clients who present a variety of needs, allowing them to build the foundational skills necessary for their professional growth.
Throughout the internship, students progress in confidence and competency as they move along their journey from counselor-in-training to provisionally licensed professionals, and ultimately to independent practitioners in the mental health field.
Under the guidance and supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), interns receive training and experience in essential areas such as:
