Job Summary:
The Grant Manager serves as the strategic architect and operational leader of all grant funding initiatives supporting the organization’s mental health programs, expansion efforts, and long-term sustainability. This role oversees the full grant lifecycle — from opportunity sourcing and proposal development to compliance, reporting, and performance optimization.
Working directly with the CEO, the Grant Manager acts as a trusted advisor on funding strategy, diversification, regulatory compliance, and scalable growth initiatives. The position plays a critical role in expanding access to high-quality, trauma-informed, and community-based mental health services.
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategic Grant Sourcing & Revenue Growth
- Identify, evaluate, and secure federal, state, county, foundation, and corporate funding aligned with:
- Develop and maintain a rolling 12–24 month grant pipeline.
- Lead the full proposal lifecycle from concept development through submission.
- Align funding strategies with Medicaid, value-based care models, and behavioral health reimbursement structures.
- Monitor funding opportunities from SAMHSA, HRSA, HHS, DOJ, state HHSC, and other behavioral health agencies.
- Develop innovative revenue strategies to support sustainable growth and increased service access.
Grant Management & Compliance Excellence
- Oversee all post-award grant compliance, including reporting, outcomes tracking, and budget monitoring.
- Ensure adherence to federal Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) and applicable state compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate drawdowns, cost allocation, and audit readiness.
- Maintain grant tracking dashboards to monitor KPIs, deliverables, and performance metrics.
- Ensure 100% on-time submission of required reports and documentation.
Executive Strategy & Advisory
- Provide the CEO with monthly funding performance reports, pipeline forecasts, and funding risk assessments.
- Support strategic expansion initiatives (e.g., new service lines, new counties, crisis services, integrated care programs).
- Advise leadership on funding diversification strategies to reduce reliance on any single funding source.
- Represent the organization in funder meetings, site visits, and collaborative funding initiatives.
Innovation in Mental Health Funding
- Identify and pursue emerging funding streams, including:
- Value-based payment pilots
- Behavioral health workforce grants
- Integrated care models
- Public-private partnerships
- Technology and telehealth grants
- Utilize data analytics and research tools to strengthen competitive positioning.
- Develop compelling, data-driven narratives that demonstrate:
- Community impact
- Reduced hospitalizations
- Improved clinical outcomes
- Increased access to care
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Clinical, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure grant-funded programs are implemented with fidelity.
- Strengthen internal data collection systems to improve outcome measurement and reporting.
- Ensure funding strategies align with trauma-informed and culturally competent care models.
- Support continuous quality improvement initiatives tied to grant performance.

- Annual grant revenue secured (target set annually by CEO/Board)

- 3–5 qualified new grant opportunities identified monthly

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of grant management experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or nonprofit settings.
- Demonstrated success securing federal, state, and foundation funding.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health reimbursement structures and funding mechanisms.
